Angola Flag

The Angola Flag came into use at when it gained independence on November 11, 1975. It is split horizontally into an upper red half and a lower black half with an Emblem itself resting at the center. It features a yellow half gear wheel crossed by a machete and crowned with a star.

A golden star, part of a cog wheel and a machete is centered. That symbol is said to be inspired by the hammer and sickle, and represents industrial and agricultural workers. Yellow is symbolic of the country’s mineral wealth, and red and black are said to stand for ‘Freedom or Death’.

Flagpole and bracket sold separately.
